Secretary - Vonnie Cotant
Vonnie Cotant is the Secretary for NCAMA. She is employed with the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center. She started with West Nebraska Juvenile Services in July of 1993 as a part-time Corrections Officer and became Shift Supervisor in 1994. In 1995, she was then promoted to Program Coordinator and had the great fortune of sitting through one of the very first "Jail Inspections" with Dan Evans from the Crime Commission/Jail Standards. The citizens of Scotts Bluff County approved funding for a new Adult and Juvenile Detention Center. Vonnie served as the Transition Chairman and on November 14, 2007, the move to their new facility was completed.
Currently, Vonnie's job includes: PREA Coordinator, she does the annual review of Policy and Procedures and does the detainee programming. She also supervises several employees whom are in charge of the staff training, detainee classification, the work release and house arrest programs. Vonnie, along with her team, supervise the Medical Contract with ACH and the Food Service Contract with CBM. Under the direction of Jail Standads, Scotts Bluff County has offered the Nebraska Standard Initial Training for the Nebraska panhandle.
In her spare time, Vonnie relaxes by reading and enjoys activities with her grandchildren.
